Are Blogs Dead? Here’s Why I Still Swear by Them
Last week, I spoke at a brilliant workshop with My Marketing Pals, where we chatted all about creating a “WOW” website — the kind that doesn’t just look good but actually brings in clients.
One question that came up (and always does):
“Are blogs dead?”
Short answer?
Nope. Not even close.
Longer answer?
Boring blogs are.
The ones written with zero personality, clearly churned out by AI, and so generic they could belong to anyone – yeah, those are on their last legs.
But a blog that’s got a bit of spark, a clear purpose, and speaks to your dream client like a real human?
That’s gold.
And here’s why…
What Blogging Still Does for Your Business in 2025 (and Beyond)
- It helps you show up on Google - Regular, relevant blog content gives search engines more pages to index and more keywords to connect your site with. Basically, it makes it easier for the right people to find you, SEO baby.
- It builds trust and authority - Sharing helpful, insightful content shows potential clients you know your stuff - and that you're generous enough to share it.
- It keeps people on your site longer - More time on your site = better engagement = more chance they’ll get in touch, buy, or book.
- It grows your email list - Your blog is the perfect place to offer a juicy freebie - something useful in exchange for an email. Simple, effective, and it works.
- It increases your chances of being included in AI answers Google’s AI Overviews and tools like ChatGPT are pulling more from quality blog content. That means your helpful post could show up when someone asks a question, even if they never visit your site directly.
- It’s evergreen A Reel lasts a day. A TikTok maybe a week. But a solid blog post? That can bring in traffic for months - sometimes years after it’s published.
- It’s content you can repurpose - Turn your blog into emails, captions, videos, podcast scripts, workshop slides… it’s the gift that keeps on giving.
But What If You Don’t Know What to Write?
You don’t need to be a “writer.” You just need to know your audience and speak to the problems they’re Googling at 10pm when they should be sleeping.
So, Are Blogs Dead?
Absolutely not – and hands up, I probably should’ve revived my blog sooner, but learn from my mistakes!
