Why I Only Work With WordPress and Ditch the Tech Jargon

This week, I was writing a website proposal for an amazing chef with a unique niche, one of those people whose food you can taste through the photos. While I was working on it, a film popped into my head: Chef (the one with Jon Favreau, not a cooking competition show).

If you haven’t seen it, it’s about a professional chef who’s tired of the rigid fine-dining world. So he starts again from scratch – in a food truck – cooking what he actually loves, with proper flavour, no fluff, and loads of heart. People queue up because they can feel the passion (and because the food looks ridiculous).

And weirdly? That’s exactly how I feel about websites.

Your Website Shouldn’t Be a Stiff, Fancy Restaurant

So many websites try to be overly polished or packed with features no one asked for. They look nice, but they don’t say much. Or they’re built on platforms that make updating them a nightmare, and the moment your designer disappears, you’re stuck.

That’s not how I work.

When I build or refresh a website, I want it to feel like that food truck moment. Honest. Full of flavour. Easy to navigate. And built to actually serve your business – not just sit there looking pretty.

Why I Only Work With WordPress

When it comes to websites, there are a lot of platforms out there — Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, Shopify… you name it. And while they each have their place, I choose to stick with WordPress. Here’s why:

My Secret Sauce

Everyone’s got their own unique blend that makes their business tick – the stuff that brings it all to life. For me, it’s the combination of:

That’s what I bring to every project. That’s my secret sauce, the blend that makes my clients come back for seconds (and refer their pals)

So… What’s Your Secret Sauce?

Whether you’re a chef, a coach, a florist or a photographer, there’s something unique about the way you do what you do. Something people can feel. Something you might take for granted, but it’s the very thing that sets you apart.

That’s the energy I want your website to capture.

If you’re ready to stir things up and create a site that really reflects your flavour – no templates, no fluff, just proper results – I’d love to chat.
